This 11-story mixed-use residential building was designed as an infill structure on a “sliver lot” in the Hudson Yards area of Manhattan. The project consists of approximately 2,500 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor, which supports 10 stories above, comprised of 7 luxury condos, some of which are 2-story. The design process consisted of getting a variance to the “sliver rule”, which allows the building to be the full allowable height by code on a narrow lot, which was submitted and has been approved through New York City Zoning. The stacking structure of repurposed containers allow for an efficient construction method along the dimensional constraints of the infill lot. Services provided by PVE include:
