Survey Party Chief | Pittsburgh, PA

Job Summary:
The Survey Party Chief position is responsible for management of multiple projects (Field and Office) and Field Survey teams for boundary, ALTA Land Title, topographic and construction surveys.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide management support, direction, work instruction, training and mentoring for existing and new survey team members. 

  • Manage survey process for assigned projects related to boundary, ALTA Land Title, topographic and construction surveys and associated technology.

  • Manage, train and mentor team members throughout the process of survey planning, land determination methods, organization of legal findings.

  • Meet with prospective clients to gain an understanding of required processes and expected results.

  • Ensure that projects are completed timely and efficiently and in accordance with client expectations and company policies and procedures.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have 4 + years of field and experience in leading Land Surveying teams with a working knowledge of boundary retracement surveying, as well as general civil site work and construction layout by planning, conducting, and recording surveys.

Ideal candidate should be proficient in the use of both field survey equipment (Trimble Office, Trimble GPS and Robotic Total Stations) and Office Drafting Software (AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016-2018).

Candidates must display excellent communication skills and strong customer facing personality in order effectively work with clients and team members. Candidates must also display strong organizational skills.
