Project Manager – Façade Inspection | San Francisco, CA

Job Summary: Responsible for oversight of the investigation, analysis, and examination of the performance of a building as it relates to the structural elements, seismic stability, building envelope (façade and roof) and surrounding site conditions related to the overall aspect of building construction and their effect on the building’s overall performance. Review the ongoing work (reports, correspondence, calculations, drawings, etc.) of staff for the completion of project activities (field and office).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience in the evaluation and restoration of existing structures.

  • Responsible for investigations, testing, failure diagnosis, construction observation, and report and summary creation.

  • Perform field investigation and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems, windows, curtain walls, and other building components.

  • Provide overall administrative and technical management support on new façade/roofing opportunities from proposal preparation through final acceptance by client.

  • Examine building exterior envelopes, develop work scopes and provide budget projections. Prepare construction documents and details to address all deficiencies in accordance with DOB requirements/guidelines.

  • Well versed in all facets of building exterior envelope, weatherproofing, masonry repair, historic preservation, landmarks and roofing projects, as well as FISP inspections and reports.

  • Attend meetings at various office, field and construction sites.

  • Read construction drawings, diagrams, printed materials and computer screens.

  • Creating remediation plans and documents for obtaining permits, in accordance with city, client, and company specifications as it relates to surrounding site conditions. Supervise contractors and staff for the completion of project activities (field and office) and prepares summary documentation (reports, correspondence, verbal communication) to present results of investigations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or applicable work experience.

  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in Building Envelope assessment, and/or design in support of various existing building projects and initiatives. Solid experience with staff management and development of team members as it relates to skill development, processes, compliance, team building within an Engineering firm, and with other design consultants and construction team (Civil, Architectural, MEP, contractor, etc.).
